The past couple weeks have been my turnaround from being hurt.
For those of you who don't know, earlier this year I ruptured a vessel near my back and got a severe bone bruise on my pelvis. When I get hurt (which has been happening more than I want lately), I always want to come back with more drive and passion than before.
You want to learn how to ride better than before, get back your speed, learn back your tricks, and try all the things you've been pondering about for the last two months. At least that's what happens to me.
So far, this has probably been one of the best comebacks for me. I rode for a long time before starting to do tricks again, I worked on my style and bike handling, which made my riding so much better.
I can't say how happy I am to be back on the bike. Winter is here and that's when all of the riders in Santa Cruz get together and have huge sessions. The dirt is the best, there are no contests, so we all work on our new tricks, and we push each other to become better riders. We run trains throwing flips and tailwhips just a couple of feet away from each other. This helps you learn tricks real fast cause if you crash you're taking your friend down with you.
All in all so far this winter has been some of the most fun I've had on my bike. I can't wait for the rest.
