After a successful showing at the Race For Tara 3 at Northstar at Tahoe, the Santa Cruz AllRide Academy sadly parted ways for the rest of the year...
Our fast and fabulous Evan Turpen crushed the technical, pedal-heavy course to take home second place in Pro Men behind Adam Craig and in front of Mark Weir!
Go Evan! Adorable, spunky ripper Cierra Smith had a great showing as well! She was only about a minute back from some very experienced racers! Keep an eye out for Cierra, she's one to watch! Kirt had a great time hanging out with his old Teammate and longtime friend Tara Llanes. He said the best part was seeing the loyalty and love that surrounds and supports her.

Academy rider and future star Mikey Sylvestri had some fun riding with Syndicate big boys Peaty, Minnaar and Roskopp in Tahoe while they were testing bikes. The consensus was that Mikey has some sick style to match his incredible speed!

When Kirt returned home to Bend, he immediately started on his new jump project that the forest service has allowed him and the hard working Bend trail builders to build. It caters to all levels and will "help the kids get really good at riding" Kirt beamed.

In between shoveling and shaping, Kirt has visited a few schools in the area to do his annual talk on helmet safety and the importance of following a passion. Last week Kirt and Adam Craig visited some 7th grade science classes to talk about momentum, velocity, friction and riding bikes... They let the kids ride their bikes around the parking lot to see the difference between a downhill bike and a light xc bike. Then Kirt agreed to hit the ghetto jumps across the street on his V10. The kids were screaming: "Do a 360! Do a backflip!" Uh huh. Not on the V10 kiddos. Sorry. :)

Ben Boyko and his Canada crew from Ride Guide TV came to Oregon and shot with Kirt, myself, and our buddies Paul and Lev from Cog Wild Mountain Bike Tours. We had a blast showing them around Bend and our buddy Kiwi Paul even took one for the team.... I'll find out when it airs and I know it's on the Ski Channel. Hmmm Ski channel. Ok.

Thanks again for everything.
More soon...
AllRide "it's all about the ride"...
